Leo Holder completed a Music Composition/Performance BMus at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance in 2023, and he has studied under composers Deirdre Gribbin, Gwyn Pritchard and Stephen Montague.

Holder finished his degree with a final performance – for which he received a first – at Blackheath Halls on the 31st of May 2023, showcasing 6 very contrasting films, each scored with a different ensemble. During his time at Trinity Laban, he reached the final of the Daryl Runswick Competition with his piece “Ex Aliquo”. The competition was adjudicated by Stephen Fry, who described the composition as “a terrifically driven piece of music. He thought it moved really pleasingly; great orchestration. There was a second movement with wonderful strings and drama, and it grew in excitement. There was a real sense of journey in it, which he loved.” He aims to use his writing and musicianship skills gained at conservatoire level for a career in the music media industry.
