Artist

SUUVI is a Cuban-Chinese multidisciplinary artist, composer, and creative technologist working at the intersection of music, immersive systems, and emerging technologies. A classically trained cellist and composer, she is a graduate of The Juilliard School, where she was a recipient of a Celia Ascher Fellowship and awarded the Leo B. Ruiz Prize, and also studied film at Columbia University. She creates interdisciplinary works that integrate spatial audio, generative visuals, and data-driven sound to produce deeply embodied, experiential environments.

Her work spans live performance, theater, and dance, with premieres of original work at Carnegie Hall, the Getty Villa, The Wallis, the Baryshnikov Arts Center, the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA), and La Fondation Louis Vuitton. She also toured internationally as a solo cellist in Hans Zimmer’s live show, an experience that informed her approach to large-scale production and immersive
performance.

Her recent projects—including Dark Therapy and Dark Star—explore interoception, perception, and transformation through immersive audiovisual works developed in collaboration with neuroscientists and creative technologists. Her work is grounded in social impact, including commissions from BODYTRAFFIC to create a contemporary dance piece reflecting on the Cuban-American immigrant experience, and from The Climate Reality Project to create a ballet engaging with themes of climate change. She has presented her work at platforms such as Google X, the BrainMind Science Collective, JPMorgan Week, and the Milken Institute.

Beyond her artistic practice, SUUVI is a public speaker, educator, and social impact advocate, engaging audiences on topics including mental health, identity, technology, and collective transformation. Through her work and speaking, she aims to foster dialogue, inclusivity, and connection across disciplines and communities.
