Sophie Yuqing Nie is a sound designer, sound artist, and audio engineer whose work spans theatre, dance, concerts, and installations. Music and sound are her mediums for exploring love, curiosity, and genuine connection. Blending aesthetic sensitivity with technical expertise, she crafts sonic experiences that resonate deeply and invite emotional engagement and reflection.
She has collaborated with artists and organizations including Anne Bogart, Lee Sunday Evans, En Garde Arts, Irina Kruzhilina, Dmitry Krymov, Marilyn Nonken, Maureen Fleming, and Talking Band. Her sound design work has been presented at venues and festivals such as La MaMa, Under the Radar, ArtsEmerson, The DiMenna Center, and IATI. She holds a Master of Music in Music Technology from New York University.
