Additional funding provided by private and public entities, including the Ettinger Foundation, the New York State Council On the Arts and our many generous individual donors.

Life Touching Life, an experimental print and video series by New York-based visual artist Dakota Gearhart, curated by Lee Dawson as part of our MAXmachina weekend laboratory. This innovative project imagines a future where all beings—humans, animals, bodies of water, and even electricity—are treated equally. Hosted by Gearhart’s alter-ego, a femme algae bloom named Tiffany, the series blends animation and interviews with scientists, poets, and fictional non-human characters like sentient AI and black holes.

Life Touching Life explores themes of empathy, environmental change, and the evolving relationships between humans and non-human life. The project is an ongoing experiment in reimagining how we relate to the world, using both intellectual dialogue and whimsical storytelling.
