MAXlive debuts finished works reaching audiences across the five boroughs of New York and beyond. This is the launchpad for our productions and we work tirelessly to collaborate with institutions, festivals, and venues worldwide to transfer and tour them, ensuring they reach broader audiences and continue to inspire critical conversation.

Dancing with Black Holes

BRIC Arts | Saturday, April 18, 2026 | 4:00 PM & 7:00 PM

An immersive journey at the threshold of a black hole, where complex astrophysical data is rendered into a bone-deep human experience. Inspired by the behavior of gravitational waves emitted billions of years ago, the work explores a point of no return – the event horizon of a black hole – a place where the laws of physics break down and kinesis takes over. The known world ends and a different kind of truth begins

"MAX is a truly unique and profound company as it links brilliant and expansive scientific thinking with innovative design and theater making. As a designer who works around the world I can share that the efforts of the entire company are full of class, inspiration and a commitment to big idea in the community. One of last season’s highlights for me was working with this inspiring company.”
